Yang Shen Anmo
Essence Nourishing Massage

Relax, Re-align, & Restore the Mind and Body

Relax, Re-align, & Harmonize

Yang Shen Anmo/Massage, or Essence/Spirit Nourishing Massage, arises from the traditions of Chinese Medicine Bodywork, including Anmo (massage) and Tui Na (clinical therapeutic bodywork). While many forms of massage focus primarily on muscle relaxation, Yang Shen Anmo works more comprehensively with the body’s structural, circulatory, and energetic systems.

Its primary aim is to nourish and regulate the body’s vital substances — including qi, blood, body fluids, and essence (jing). Through cultivated touch and attentive presence, stagnation within the tissues, joints, acupoints, and meridian pathways begins to release, allowing circulation to move more freely and the body’s internal systems to return toward balance.

Distinct techniques use continuous, flowing movements with varied pressure, combining soft tissue manipulation, gentle joint mobilization, and acupoint work. As circulation improves and tension releases, the nervous system settles naturally into a deeper state of relaxation and restoration.

By encouraging the smooth circulation of qi and blood throughout the body, Yang Shen Anmo/Massage supports natural healing processes while promoting clarity, vitality, structural alignment, and overall renewal.

Relaxing Back Massage

What to Expect

Sessions are conducted similarly to a traditional massage. Guests are asked to disrobe to their comfort level and lie on the treatment table, remaining properly draped with sheets throughout the session, with only the areas being worked on uncovered.

Treatment may include flowing Tui Na techniques, soft tissue manipulation, gentle joint mobilization, abdominal palpation, and acupoint work, depending on the needs of the body.

Unscented oil is used during the session, and when appropriate, a traditional Chinese herbal liniment may be applied to warm and cool the muscles and tendons while supporting circulation.

Each session is adapted to the individual, with pressure ranging from gentle and relaxing to deeper therapeutic treatment, always respecting the body’s comfort and natural response.
