Chinese Medical Bodywork Therapy
Tui Na & Qigong Therapy
Tui Na is a therapeutic form of Chinese medical bodywork combining structured manual techniques with principles similar to deep tissue and therapeutic massage, applied through a Chinese medical framework.

Qigong Therapy refers to the therapeutic application of focused attention and intention through hands-on contact. The practitioner directs Qi to influence internal balance, supporting the regulation of the organs, circulation of energy, and overall systemic harmony.
Treatment focuses on reducing pain, improving mobility, and supporting nervous system regulation through precise hands-on techniques and guided internal regulation.

Sessions are individualized and may include cupping, gua sha, moxibustion, herbal liniment, and non-scented oil when clinically appropriate.

- What is Tui Na? -
Tui Na is a therapeutic form of Chinese medical bodywork used to address muscle tension, joint restriction, stress, fatigue, and overall body imbalance.

Unlike relaxation massage, Tui Na is treatment-focused. Techniques include rhythmic compression, targeted pressure, joint mobilization, and guided movement, applied through the framework of Chinese medicine.

Tui Na is often combined with Qigong Therapy, a hands-on method that uses directed intention and touch to influence circulation, organ balance, and nervous system regulation. Together, these methods help restore healthy movement, reduce stress, and encourage the body’s natural healing processes.

This approach may help with:
• Neck and back pain
• Shoulder and hip restriction
• Chronic muscular tension
• Headaches
• Stress and nervous system imbalance
• Digestive discomfort
• Fatigue and low energy
• General relaxation and restoration
• Difficulty relaxing or sleeping

Treatment intensity and approach are adjusted to each individual. Sessions may focus on pain relief, stress reduction, improved mobility, or restoring overall balance in the body.

How Treatment Works
Tui Na therapy uses structured hands-on techniques applied to muscles, joints, and connective tissue to improve circulation, release restriction, and support the body’s natural healing processes.

Treatments may include rhythmic compression, flowing manual techniques, joint mobilization, and abdominal palpation used in Chinese medicine to assess and regulate internal balance.

Using diagnostic principles from Chinese medicine, the focus is on restoring functional balance throughout the body rather than addressing symptoms alone. Techniques are applied progressively, allowing areas of tension and restriction to release naturally while improving movement and structural alignment.

Sessions may also incorporate Qigong-based therapeutic methods. This form of hands-on energy work uses focused intention and touch to influence the body’s Qi, helping calm the nervous system, regulate internal function, and support recovery.
What to Expect
Your session begins with a brief discussion of current concerns and areas of discomfort. Treatment is then applied using structured manual techniques adapted to your individual needs.

Pressure and intensity are adjusted based on comfort and therapeutic goals. When appropriate, cupping, gua sha, moxibustion, or herbal liniment may be incorporated.

Guests are typically asked to disrobe to their level of comfort, similar to a massage session. Professional draping is used throughout the treatment so that only the areas being addressed are uncovered at any given time. Unscented oil is used to allow smooth application of techniques, and when appropriate, traditional Chinese herbal liniments may be applied to warm or cool the muscles and tendons for therapeutic effect.

Many people leave the session with reduced tension, improved mobility, and a calmer nervous system.
